AssemblyBuilt just completed phase 2 of the Innovation Workshop Project at mHUB Chicago. This phase brought together several partners and collaborators to design, deliver and build out 7 individual member garages framed by semi-modular panels in mHUB’s prototype lab.
These garages are designed for flexibility and built for real-world use. We used automated light-gauge steel framing to create the semi-modular partition system. Each garage uses 4’ and 6’ panels, and can be reconfigured as members' needs evolve. Chicago-based workforce training center Revolution Workshop provided the crew, which assembled the framing members into panels at an average of just 10 minutes each. Then, they installed all 26 panels to create the garages in under 7 hours.
In addition to utilizing the talented folks at Revolution Workshop, the project brought in industry leader FRAMECAD, which provided materials, technical support, and their automated light-gauge steel framing system.
